Schema Markup Case Studies
Need some proof that schema works? How about hearing some schema markup case studies straight from Google
Landing Page Conversion Optimization
We know how and why structured data works, but perhaps you would like to see schema in action. Fortunately, Google compiled case studies from some of the largest companies in the world.
The following case studies show not only how well schema markup works, but they also show how well schema markup works when a company is ALREADY addressing all other aspects of SEO.
ZipRecruiter Project Summary
ZipRecruiter partnered with Google as far back as 2012 to implement structured data for their job postings, and that’s part of the reason they were so successful. In 2017, Google released special ‘jobPosting’ schema markup. ZipRecruiter applied this new schema as best practice.
Proven Results
ZipRecruiter notated the changes it saw as a result of the new ‘jobPosting’ schema. The company saw that it was converting at three times the rate on Google as on any other search engine. Overall, ZipRecruiter had a CTR that was 450% higher than it was previously. Importantly, the website’s bounce rate decreased by 10%. Finally, ZipRecruiter noticed a monthly 35% increase in organic traffic that was non-branded.
Eventbrite Project Summary
Eventbrite, the world leader in event technology, began to use event structured data from 2015. In 2017, Google revamped the search engine experience for events on mobile devices. Since Eventbrite already had existing structured data for events, the company only had to make minor revisions to be compliant with Google’s newest version of event schema markup.
Proven Results
Eventbrite saw nearly a 100% increase in yearly traffic growth after the implementation of the new “event-centered” search experience and schema markup.
MX Player Project Summary
MX Player is one of the leading video streaming sites in the world with well over a hundred thousand hours worth of content available. The company strives to entertain over 200 millions fans by providing the right content at the right time. As a result of having so much content available, MX Player decided to fully optimize their videos by adding structured data and submitting video sitemaps.
Proven Results
Since embracing full optimization through video schema markup, MX Player has witnessed a 300x growth in traffic (you read that right) alongside a 100% increase of video page views per each user session. The kicker? These changes occurred in just 6 months.
